Theme: Many Shades of Green

The AESS 2010 conference will take place from Thursday evening June 17 through Sunday afternoon June 20.  A one-page summary schedule is available for download, and a PDF of the bound conference program is here. An overview of the schedule follows:

• Pre-conference field trips and workshops Thursday morning and afternoon
• Opening plenary Thursday evening with major keynote address by Julian Agyeman, with additional keynote addresses by ecologist Terry Chapin and writer Mike Davis Friday and Saturday
• Academic presentation, panel, and poster sessions Friday and Saturday (here is a listing of presentation abstracts by last name)
• Environmental art show runs Friday afternoon through the weekend
• Integrative sessions, roundtables, and closing plenary Sunday morning 

The conference will feature a number of academic sessions related to our theme, Many Shades of Green, suggesting the diversity of "green" perspectives and practices today. The MSoG and other sessions will all pertain to one of three primary academic areas in environmental studies and sciences: theory (fundamental questions and concepts), pedagogy (course and curriculum considerations), and praxis (applications to policy, practice, and activism). 

As a note to attendees: in order to serve our members, AESS 2010 participants who wish to promote an upcoming event or opportunity at the conference are free to make use of a bulletin board we will prominently display next to the registration area.
